Krizz Kaliko - Go Album Review

Image
Watch the Video Review here! Right from the jump here, I want to say that I like Krizz Kaliko’s music. When I first was coming across the Strange Music camp, I felt as if Kaliko was a Spliff Starr type of dude, meaning he was more of a sidekick or hype man for Tech N9ne instead of a very well talented artist himself. Once I got further into Strange Music, I realized this guy can really spit pretty much as good as anybody on the roster. But, I’ve always felt that he was similar to Cee-Lo Green. Sure, the guy can rap, and rap better than most rappers in the game. But, I’ve always felt like his singing is what would make him a star. I’ve always really like Kaliko singing more than his rapping. And on his latest album, Go, Krizz Kaliko gives us a lot more of that singing that I feel he’s so great at, and the album is better off because of it. The album starts off with an introduction from a motherly voice talking to Krizz and pretty much setting us up for what’s to come the

Rittz - Top of the Line Album Review!

Watch the Video Review here! This has probably been the hardest review I’ve had to write. Upon first listen of Top of the Line, Rittz’s 3rd official album on Tech N9ne’s Strange Music record label, I said to myself, “Holy shit, this is going to be my first 5 star album review! That was amazing!” I usually try not to form too much of an opinion about a project until I’ve listened to it a few times, but after just one listen, I already knew this one was special. Every emotion that you can feel while listening to an album are present here, and that’s often not the case. Rittz even managed to have me a bit emotional at the end of the album (more on that later.) There is not a single bad song throughout this entire project. Not one! This is also very rare, especially over the course of 24 songs. But the real question I’ve been asking myself all week, and even still now is, is this album really a 5 star album? I’ve spent the past week listening to TOTL trying to co

Drake "Views" Album Review

Image
Watch the Video Review Here! Views from the 6 is the first Drake album that I don’t like as a complete album. Of his four studio albums released, and even if you wanna include his mixtape/retail release, “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late,” this is hands down, in my opinion, Drake’s worst album. As I’ve listened to this album over and over again this past weekend, I can’t help but feel like something is missing. Which is disappointing because I was kind of excited to hear this new release. While Drake’s closest of peers in the industry (Kendrick Lamar, Wale, Big Sean, Big Krit, and J. Cole) are improving lyrically with every release, Drake took a big step back here. Let’s be clear, lyrically, Drake to me has always been better than the Young Thugs, Rich Homie Quan’s and Tyga’s of the world, but on Views, at times, he is on equal footing as those guys. The best way for me to explain it is, he sounds like he’s bored throughout this project. His bars throughout the ent

Caine Addiction Album Review

Image
Watch the video review here! So in November, I wrote an album review and filmed my first Youtube music review for Krayzie Bone’s latest album, Chasing the Devil. In that review, I spoke about a featured artist on the album, who goes by the name of Caine. I said Caine’s flow and delivery were great, but I just felt like the song he had on the album didn’t really fit on Krayzie Bone’s album. No shots at the man himself, just didn’t feel like that song should’ve been on Krayzie’s album. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and a fan of Caine’s caught wind of my review, and criticized my opinions on the song, also making it seem as if I called the man wack. I actually wound up speaking to Caine himself, and told him I’d listen his album and give it a review. So ladies and Gentlemen, this is my review of Caine’s album, Addiction. Before I say anything else about the album, I want to say first, that Caine definitely has skills on the mic. As I’ve said before, the man has a grea
